Our Beliefs

The Word: We believe the Bible is the authoritative, inspired, and complete Word of God (Matthew 4:4; John 1:1, 2 Timothy 3:16, 17).

God: We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit as one. We believe He created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1; Matthew 28:19).

Christ: We believe that Jesus is the Christ or Savior, equal with God, timeless, fully God and fully man (God-incarnate), that He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and rose again to eternal life so that we may have forgiveness of sins and eternal life with Him, and that He is coming back to gather His Church (John 8:56-58; 10:30; 3:16; 1:14; 1:32-34; Colossians 1:15-20; 2:9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Ephesians 4:3-6).

Holy Spirit: We believe in the indwelling Holy Spirit sent by God to live and work in all immersed believers until Christ’s return as promised when the church began. (John 14:15-20; John 16:7-17; 1 Corinthians 2; Acts 1:4-5; Acts 2:38; 2:14-21: Joel 2:27-28).

Man/humanity: We believe God created male and female (Genesis 1:27), that we all sin and are separated from God. Sin brought physical and spiritual death to all (Genesis 3, 1 Corinthians 15:22; Ezekiel 18:19-22; Romans 3:23; 6:23; Isaiah 53:6). We are therefore in need of redemption through Jesus Christ.

Salvation by Grace through Faith: God’s Word tells us that God loves us and wants all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4). However, the Bible tells us that not everyone will be saved (Matthew 7:21) and that salvation is only promised to those who follow Christ (John 14:6). It is imperative that we receive and trust in Him (John 1:12; Titus 3:8).

We believe that a person is saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8). A person who does not have faith in Christ, or is living in rebellion against him, should not expect to be saved, regardless of his past (Hebrews 3:8, 12; 10:26; 2 Peter 2:20-22.)

We believe the way to salvation, as described in the Scriptures, is for us to whole-heartedly trust in (believe in) the one perfect sacrifice (the life Jesus Christ freely gave on the cross), repent of our sins, publicly confess Jesus as Lord and be immersed (baptized) in the name of Jesus.
